Often considered Canada's premier artist, Daphne Odjig and her art has traveled the world many times over. She has had over 30 solo exhibits and over 50 group exhibits during her career. She was one of the founding members of the Indian Group of Seven, which included Alex Janvier, Noval Morrisseau, Jackson Beardy, Eddy Cobiness, Carl Ray and Joseph Sanchez. She has been honored with the Order of Canada, Order of British Columbia, Governor General's Award, numerous honorary doctorate degrees, and recently three of her Woodland Style paintings were featured on commemorative stamps by Canada Post.
